The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is I.M. Pei's, the same architect behind the Louvre pyramid. A white geometric tower, a great glass tent, a cantilevered drum, all set on the edge of Lake Erie. There is nothing else like it in Cleveland.
It is a museum first, but it hosts weddings and receptions, and the building is the whole reason to be there. The glass atrium fills with light. The lakefront plaza gives you water, sky and skyline in one frame.
Most coverage here treats the architecture as a backdrop and stops thinking. That wastes the venue. Pei designed the building around light and angle; the photography should be designed the same way, with the geometry leading every frame.
Twenty years of architectural and commercial work is exactly the training this venue asks for.
